Today is World Heart Day. This is globally held on the last Sunday of September each year. It is an initiative to inform people about cardiovascular diseases. The event also aims to promote preventative measures that reduce the risk of cardiovascular diseases, which are the biggest cause of death. This year’s theme addresses the importance of a life-course approach to the prevention and control of cardiovascular disease (CVD) with a focus on women and children.
